Advance Awards

ABOUT

ABOUT THE AWARDS

Established in 2012, the Advance Awards celebrate international Australians and alumni who exhibit remarkable talent, exceptional vision, and ambition.

They are the only awards of their kind to recognise the important contributions of the one million Australians living abroad and honour them at home, to foster connections between Australia and our expat community.

Advance has identified a number of industry sectors that are of particular importance to Australia and Australians in the coming decades.

Category Awards are presented to the most exceptional entrant in each sector. From this group the Overall Advance Award winner is selected and announced at the Advance Awards Ceremony & Gala Dinner.

In addition to these categories, Advance gives awards for overall special categories. The Global Impact Award recognises an extraordinary Australian who continues to have a positive global impact on the world, and the Alumni Award celebrates the achievements of a non-Australian alumnus of an Australian university.

In 2019 Advance introduced the Asia Impact Award, a special award category to recognise individuals with outstanding contributions in Australia, Greater China, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, India, and Vietnam.

2018 Advance Award winners present at the Ceremony & Gala Dinner (L-R): Derek Buckmaster, Pete Ceglinski, Leanne Kemp, Angelica Cheung, Dalene Wray, Dr Renae Beaumont, Dr Thomas Oxley, Professor Barry Marshall

JUDGING PANEL

Advance brings together a group of eminent Australians who represent the country's diverse entrepreneurial culture to judge the Awards. Chaired by Advance Founder and Chairman Emeritus, Ken Allen AM, they are selected for their professional expertise, integrity, and standing in our global Australian community.

These awards don’t just exemplify the extraordinary success of Australia and Australians on the world stage; they are an embodiment of the Australian spirit: entrepreneurial, embracive and filled with pioneering courage. Yet again it has been an immense honour to have played a part in the judging process.
